Supply List for Paper Piecing Workshop

If you are registered for the February 9, 2014 workshop and sew-in, the following is a list of supplies you'll need for the Paper-Piecing Workshop portion of the day:

Print 3 copies of the Red Pepper Quilts Economy Block pdf file found here.  Set page scaling to "none" when printing to be sure that the pattern will print at the correct size - finished blocks will be 5" square.

Fabrics:

(3) 3.5" squares - 2 dark and 1 light
(6) 4" squares - 4 light and 2 dark
(6) 5" squares - 4 dark and 2 light

Small cutting mat, rotary cutter, and ruler (6" square or 6" x 12" would be ideal)
Scissors for use with paper and fabric
Straight pins
Seam Ripper
Neutral color piecing thread
Sewing machine
Add-A-Quarter ruler (only if you already have one - not essential)
Mini-iron and pad (again only if you already have one)

Not yet registered for the workshop?  Please see this post for registration instructions.

If you have never paper-pieced before, you may want to watch this YouTube video by Mary Fons of Quilty Magazine.  Paper-piecing is not difficult, but it requires a different approach than traditional block piecing, and a look at this short video may give you a chance to start "wrapping your brain around" that approach.

We're looking forward to seeing there on Sunday at 11:00am!  Stay warm and safe until then!
