Freshly Pieced - a modern quilting blog

At Judy O's suggestion, I'd like to make sure you know about a fun modern quilter - Lee Heinrich - and her blog Freshly Pieced.

In addition to writing her popular blog, Lee is also one of the co-authors (along with Faith Jones and Katie Clark Blakesley) of the recently published book Vintage Quilt Revival. We were fortunate enough to host Faith as a speaker at our July 2013 guild meeting where she showed us many of her beautiful quilts and some photos of quilts from this book. Judy thought it would be fun to introduce you to Lee as well so you can hop over to her site and check out her lovely work!

A couple of weekends ago Lee, Faith, and Jacquie Gering (also a CLMQG 2013 speaker!) participated in a "Menu of Modern" quilting event at the Wisconsin Museum of Quilts and Fiber Arts in Cedarburg. Lee has a photo of the three of them at that event on her blog which I am including here with her permission.

So be sure to visit Lee's site Freshly Pieced to see her awesome quilts. And leave her a nice comment telling her that CLMQG sent you :)

Faith's blog is Fresh Lemons Quilts, and Jacquie's blog is Tallgrass Prairie Studio. Katie Clark Blakesley blogs at Swim, Bike, Quilt. You'll want to make all four of these sites part of your regular online quilt reading!

You can purchase the book Vintage Modern Quilts from your local quilt shop or from several online retailers.
